FAQ:
Who is the father/daughter ball for?
The father/daughter ball is for anyone in the community! It is for girls between the ages of 2-10. The average ages attending would be 4-8 years old. Family means many things today, so even though we call it a father/daughter ball is could be a girl and an important man in her life, uncle, brother, grandfather, family friend, etc.
Can mothers stay for the dance?
We understand that people want to stay and watch the dance but it is our policy that after the Grand March gets over all those, others than the fathers and daughters, need to leave. We have discovered that fathers and daughters are much more relaxed and create wonderful memories when others are not watching them. Those who try to stay longer then the grand march will be asked to leave.
What princesses and characters will be at the dance?
We do our best to have all the well known princesses at the dance every year. We also have many famous characters as well from Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz to Officer Judy Hopps from Zootopia. The best part is that all of these characters are available all night now for the girls to dance and interact with.
What should people wear to the ball?
We do not have or enforce any type of dress code. In the end we want fathers and daughters to have fun, one way to ensure this is for them to be comfortable. We have dads in tuxedos to blue jeans and daughters in princess dresses to pants. It is your night, so do what makes you comfortable.
What about pictures?
When the doors open at 5:30pm you will see a gym full of princesses, fairies and characters spread out, just waiting to have their pictures taken. There are also 2 photo booths set up for more formal pictures. We do not have a photographer on site so please bring a camera with you.
I bought tickets and then was not able to go. Can I get a refund?
The tickets for the Fairytales and Forever Afters are non-refundable.
Where does the money go?
The ticket sales go toward the DJ, decorations, food, crafts and the costumes of the characters. Any extra money goes to the BHS Theatre Department. Did you know just to be allowed to put on a play you have to pay for performance rights and buy the scripts. This can cost anywhere between $400-$800 for a single play or $1,500-5,000 for a musical. That doesn't include the set, costumes and props. This money helps the students put on a musical, two plays and take mini-shows to elementary schools.
